Foremost, this website is about creating quality art that grabs your interest, makes you want to look around a while and if I’m being honest; hopefully make a few bucks along the way.
Today’s culture tells us that Divas are “R & B” or “Pop” stars like Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Madonna. Even the ladies of the WWE; like the Bella twins, are called Divas. While this may be true, my goal is to present; through my art, the women “We” know and have crossed paths with at least once in our life. Whether she’s that Cheerleader, Executive at work, or Girl Next Door. There’s something about her style and attitude. Love them or hate them they make us take notice.
Artists have painted them for centuries. On this website I will bring my own artistic styles to those women that make us say to ourselves; “Damn, she’s Dangerous”!
I work in many styles, digital and paint on canvas. I find interest in many subjects. On my website you’ll find my original art showcasing: Pin-Up Girls, Aircraft “Nose Art”, Film Noir, Glamour, Sci-Fi, “Girls with Guns” and even some Steampunk/Neo-Victorian and Gothic. By creating what I enjoy, I hope to create something for everyone.
Well, my name is Brent Montgomery – “BRENT” meaning Hill. I come from the end of the “Baby Boomer” era. I believe in Bugs Bunny and the Road Runner, and not the watered down/sanitized versions either. (People under the age of 40 probably have no idea what I’m talking about). I believe Shit Happens for a reason. I believe in Karma – You get back what you give.
I was raised in your typical middle-class family with a typical public-school education mostly in Southeastern rural Wisconsin. I had a knack for art and creating things. I was always encouraged to be creative. At age sixteen I was fortunate to receive private art lessons which I stuck with until I graduated Highschool. I was instructed in oils and watercolor, painting your typical landscapes and flower arrangements. My college years set me on a different artistic course. I attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, (MIAD). There, I majored in Industrial Design but kept my hands in the fine arts off campus. After graduation the real world hit me. Jobs around Milwaukee were few and far between and after struggling for a year I took a wild leap and landed in Phoenix, AZ. The combination of my design and fine art background got me an Art Director position designing and building parade floats for the then named “Sunkist Fiesta Bowl”. However, after five years, and some major changes to that job I found myself changing career paths and joining the US Postal Service. Long story-short; I carried mail, became a supervisor, became an Addressing Technician, retired as Manager of Address Management Systems for the USPS Arizona/New Mexico District. Alas, we’re back to being an artist again but this time for fun…and hopefully a little profit too :)
